台中35歲簡姓男子騎摩托車載著41歲的李姓妻子及2歲兒子外出，24日12點多行經豐原區復興路，在博愛街右轉時，遭一旁住宅2樓外牆上的招牌掉落砸傷，造成簡男胸部輕微挫傷，李女前臂處約3公分切割傷、2歲男童額頭處有3公分撕裂傷，所幸送醫後均無大礙。
據住宅1樓手機配件店家員工描述，一家三口騎摩托車要從復興路右轉博愛街時，被2樓外牆上的招牌掉落砸傷，當下聽到「啊！」一聲，馬上出去查看並立即打119。
豐原警分局頂街所表示，掉落的為遮擋冷氣缺口的鐵片，50多歲的劉姓房東向警方指出，因該住宅2、3樓長時間沒人租，就用長、寬約1.5公尺的鐵片擋住冷氣缺口，用木條固定鐵片四周。劉姓房東在事發後也到豐原醫院探視傷者，並表示願意賠償機車損壞費用、醫藥費用，對方也願意和解。
