台中市北區一間公寓套房今天凌晨1時驚傳火警！消防隊員獲報後抵達現場時，發現套房大門深鎖、有黑煙冒出，進入屋內後，發現一名8旬老翁倒臥在床邊的地上，已無生命跡象，經送醫後已恢復呼吸心跳，仍在住院觀察。
消防局指出，獲報後派遣中區、中港、大誠等分隊，出動各式救災（護）車共8輛、28名人員前往搶救，原本想破門而入，幸好老翁的兒子及時趕回家，趕緊協助開門；消防隊員進入屋內後，發現老翁躺在床舖旁地板上，床舖一小角有燃燒痕跡。
另外，消防局指出，進入屋內時，只有濃煙，趕緊將老翁送往醫院急救，所幸有恢復呼吸心跳，至於，確切的起火原因仍待進一步調查釐清。
