據了解，林翁於昨天上午，外出前往中坑路橫巷3號附近採竹筍，卻直到中午都沒有回家，由於擔心林翁的安危，家屬急忙報警處理，消防隊獲報後，立即派出4名救難人員上山搜救，並請名間分隊支援救護車前往，抵達後卻發現林翁躺在地上，後腦勺有傷口且出血，身體已僵硬明顯死亡，便將遺體用擔架運送至山下交由當地警方處理。警方表示，今經檢警會同法醫相驗，發現林翁後腦勺雖然受傷流血，但右腋下卻也遭竹子刺入身體，這處傷勢才是導致林翁死亡的原因，也提醒民眾多加留意安全，避免意外發生。
