南投鹿谷麒麟潭施作截水工程以致潭水降低，不料潭邊綠藻卻因高溫曝曬發臭，引發民怨。（取自臉書鹿谷人聊天室）
〔記者劉濱銓／南投報導〕日頭赤炎炎，氣溫持續升高，就連南投鹿谷鄉知名景點麒麟潭也跟著發臭！
近來地方頻頻反映，麒麟潭水變得奇臭無比，民眾直指，潭水水位驟降，潭邊綠藻因高溫曝曬腐爛發臭，潭水臭到爆，要求相關單位應儘速處理。
鹿谷鄉公所則說，其實，這是因潭水正在做優養化整治，藉由截水工程將周邊住戶排放的廢水集中、隔離，減緩優養化，但工程施作必須先放水降低水位，而最近高溫炎熱，綠藻露出水面曝曬發臭，預計下週起工程陸續驗收，2週後水位將會回補，潭水變臭就可改善。
公所也說，近期也有評估是否就露出的綠藻先行清除，但因潭底都是爛泥，清理過程恐有安全風險，因此，現階段只能呼籲民眾共體時艱，靜待施工過渡期結束，而之後也會定期將潭水放流、回補，以流動方式避免潭水變死水，逐步改善優養化。
