靜修國小因當年員林鐵路高架化，舊火車站許多文物廢棄，師生覺得可惜，進入站內收集，由於件數不少，經有系統的規劃，逐步打造為縣內頗具特色的鐵道文化校園。
校長黃榮森說，師生的日常生活離不開鐵道意象，這個文學步道長約百公尺，以鐵道車箱意象載著員林鎮的特有水果—荔枝、楊桃、葡萄等，上面寫著鐵道文學作品，讓民眾從文學從引發鐵道的樂趣。
學生創作的作品五花八門，有人把過山洞，火車奔馳的聲音還有員林鐵道從平面走向高架化的轉變都用文字來表達，充分展現學生的創意。
