這名報馬仔是嫁來台灣20年的阮氏草，她說，家住溪州，嫁來台灣之前，在越南都沒有任何宗教信仰，因為朋友加入「中華媽祖協會」，她也加入，大家在一起有共同的信仰，經常四處進香、拜拜，非常好玩。
她說，她來台灣才知道有「媽祖信仰」，媽祖的信仰就是慈悲為懷，救苦救難，她信仰媽祖，家人都十分贊成，她認為，因為媽祖信仰，更快融入台灣社會。
