田尾鄉內八堡圳的北鎮、睦宜、新生、南曾、北曾、饒平等村，每到農曆七月初八這天，沿岸村民就會準備牲禮、鮮花、素果等，為八七水災亡靈舉行「八堡圳祭」，有時普渡桌數不夠，村民就以車斗代桌，儀式佔據整座橋頭。
田尾鄉南曾村耆老張宗賢指出，祭典一來是為祭拜八七水災遇難者，另一說是早年八堡圳發生潰堤，民眾向鄭成功神靈祈求，洪水才消退，為感恩鄭成功的庇佑，每年農曆七月八日就會舉行祭拜活動。
