〈中部〉大城鄉小麥熟了 金黃麥浪好風情

〔記者顏宏駿/彰化報導〕彰化縣大城鄉位於濁水溪出海口,早年被喻為「風頭水尾」,在土壤貧脊下,只能種植蕃薯等作物,但近年來因小麥種植面積達二百多公頃,已有「小麥的故鄉」之稱,目前正值小麥收割季節,在鄉間可見麥田麥浪、迎風搖曳,真是美不勝收。

在六、七年前,「喜願麵包」的負責人施明煌帶著小麥籽前來大城鄉,尋找契作農戶,從剛開始十位農民種八公頃,到今年已超過二百位農民加入,經農會推廣,總栽種面積躍升到二百多公頃,目前委託農民契作的單位還有「大城小麥」(糧商)及「潭墘社區小麥產銷班」等,讓大城鄉譜寫出一頁「黃金麥浪」傳奇。

目前正是小麥收割季節,昨天已有零星遊客前來拍照取景。來自福興鄉的施小姐說,原本以為有跟國外一樣「一望無際」的麥田,結果來到這裡才知道,每一處麥田都離很遠,她們只能找一些較廣闊的麥田拍照,過過癮。

麥農蕭嘉宏說,他從五年前開始種,剛開始只想領每期每分地「轉作補助」五千五百元,後來發現,種麥子並不難,根本不太需要施肥、噴藥,只有除除雜草,而種一公頃的稻子,扣除成本只剩十萬元,但一公頃小麥卻有淨利十二萬元,兩者相較,仍以種小麥較有利潤。

大城鄉農會表示,目前跟「喜願小麥」鼓勵農民栽種有機小麥,價格比慣行農法高約三成,如果從小麥的栽種能開始友善耕種,農民耕作習慣改變,可以延伸到稻作,將來整個區域都是有機,整個大城鄉的農業價值就提昇上來。
