屬二級保育類動物的八色鳥，近期有3對「鳥夫妻」到宜蘭三星鄉龍泉步道築巢、育雛，為避免繁殖期間受人為打擾，縣府即日起在鳥夫妻育雛、覓食範圍拉起封鎖線，要讓八色鳥安心育雛。三星鄉公所呼籲鳥友、遊客經過時輕聲細語，讓牠們安心繁衍下一代。
龍泉步道距三星市區僅約5分鐘車程，每年4月至9月八色鳥會到當地育雛，繁衍下一代；步道周邊生態原始、豐富，除八色鳥，還有黑枕藍鶲、紅嘴黑鵯、繡眼畫眉、五色鳥等鳥類築巢，被鳥友譽為「五星級」賞鳥熱點。
