〔記者江志雄／宜蘭報導〕宜蘭縣蘇澳籍漁船新金發六號，昨天在南澳外海起火，船上六人緊急跳海逃生；蘇澳海巡隊巡防艇救起五人，另一人受傷印尼漁工，由空勤總隊直升機吊掛載回岸上；台籍游姓船長說，發現火苗後五分鐘，漁船即陷入火海，晚一步就來不及逃生。
昨天上午十一點多，新金發六號在距離南澳烏石鼻岸邊約十九浬海域火燒船；蘇澳海巡隊獲報後，調派線上兩艘巡防艇馳援，抵達事發海域時，漁船冒出陣陣濃煙，六名船員已經跳海，緊抱浮具在海面載浮載沈。
游姓船長父子獲救後搭乘巡防艇返回南方澳，蘇澳區漁會總幹事陳春生也到南興碼頭探視；船長兒子的妻子，見到丈夫平安歸來，快步趨前擁抱喜極而泣；游姓船長說，新金發六號起火點在船艙引擎室，火勢一發不可收拾，火勢熄滅後，派救護船拖回港區。
