花蓮連震！中央氣象局觀測，14日晚間6時48分花蓮近海突然一陣搖晃，發生芮氏規模4.6地震，深度僅12公里，花蓮太魯閣、宜蘭南澳、花蓮市最大震度2級，16分鐘後，近海再度發生3.9地震，花蓮和平、宜蘭南澳最大震度依然有2級。
花蓮近海連續2地震，引發不少聯想，就怕又要發生「能量釋放」。根據氣象局地震報告，14日從中午開始，東部就陸續搖晃，12時34分台東達仁鄉發生規模3.7地震，隨後下午2時7分，同地區又4.0地震；到了晚間6時48分，花蓮縣近海發生4.6地震，深度12公里，晚間7時4分花蓮近海再度3.9地震，深度也僅7公里。
