〔記者江志雄／宜蘭報導〕捨己救人的宜蘭勇男吳東樺昨舉辦告別式，宜蘭縣政府頒發褒揚狀，肯定他見義勇為精神；吳母說，將向吳東樺、朱若穎擲筊，若獲首肯，會幫兩人辦冥婚，讓小倆口到另一個世界再續前緣。
卅二歲吳東樺二日休假，帶著廿一歲女友朱若穎，到有「情人灣」南方澳內埤海灘遊玩；吳男看到八歲洪姓女童被浪捲走，奮不顧身下水救人，洪小妹被浪打上岸逃過一劫，吳卻溺水不治；朱女自責不該找男友去海邊，十四日燒炭身亡。
昨吳東樺告別式，親友齊聚羅東壽園送吳後一程；同學好友含淚說，「你的勇敢讓我引以為榮」、「你跟朱若穎要幸福走下去」，字字句句令人鼻酸。
宜蘭縣副縣長余聯興代表代理縣長陳金德頒發褒揚狀，褒揚狀上面寫著「吳東樺見義勇為，為搶救南方澳內埤海灣溺水民眾犧牲奉獻、捨身救人，特予褒揚。」
吳東樺靈前擺放兩張他親吻朱若穎遺照，吳媽媽強忍悲傷，還是忍不住頻頻拭淚；被問到是否為兒子辦冥婚？吳媽媽說，要向吳東樺、朱若穎擲筊，如果擲出聖筊，會協助兩人完成遺願。
