〔記者陳賢義／台東報導〕旿晚的大火將位於台東太麻里鄉新香蘭拉勞蘭部落，全台第一所原住民獵人學校燒成廢墟，波及在旁基督教長老教會，火調人員今重返火場，釐清起火原因;據了解，火警發生時，正好有人在燒材熱洗澡鍋爐，疑因未注意火勢，竄出火苗先燃起獵人學校行政辦公室邊牆，火勢再延燒，由於整棟二樓式建築均為木造，一發不可收拾。
烈焰沖天，所有族人赫見全都跑往滅火，根本徒勞無功，消防人員趕抵，立刻拉起水線搶救，熊熊火勢一直從晚間8時許，一直延燒到今日凌晨3時許。眼見好不容易才打造成獵人學校付之一炬，族人心痛不已，但也有人說也許是祖靈給予的考驗，要部落更團結努力。
教會被圍起封鎖線，但教友們今早仍如往常前往，偕牧師戴明雄舉行一場感恩禮拜，慶幸這場未造成人員傷亡。戴明雄表示，教會都與族人站在一起，會用愛修建教會，也協助獵人學校。
