台東縣池上鄉一處飯店21日下午驚傳意外，一名年僅6歲的男童在獨棟Villa水池中戲水，但卻不慎溺水失去意識，待被發現救起後已呈現OHCA，現已緊急送往關山慈濟醫院搶救中。男童確切溺水原因還有待警方進一步調查。

警方初步調查，溺水男童被發現時已是下午17時26分，警消獲報後立即出動將其送往醫院急救，雖然一度沒有生命徵象，但經搶救後已經恢復呼吸心跳，現仍需住院觀察；而男童溺水的當下，家長也在附近，可能是疏忽注意才會釀成意外，家長是否有涉及刑事責任，還需要進一步釐清。
飯店業者指出，男童是在姑姑、爺爺及奶奶的陪同下入住飯店獨棟Villa房，房內有附設小型游泳池，深度僅110公分；房務員在事發前還曾到隔壁棟送行李，當時見到男童在泳池中開心戲水，沒想到傍晚17時許就傳出溺水意外。
