〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕花蓮縣玉里鎮一棟檜木老屋今天（1日）發生火災，火勢相當猛烈，所幸屋內無人受困。屋主受訪時難過表示，老屋原訂本週重新裝潢，她燒金紙祈求動工順利，沒想到金紙餘燼引燃屋角，讓整棟老屋燒光光。
綜合媒體報導，屋主提到，看中這棟老屋完全由檜木打造，花了250萬買下來，上週才剛交屋，沒想到竟因為開工燒金紙引發大火。
有網友認為是「房子太漂亮神明要了」、「真有誠意，燒整棟給神明」，也有人批評「燒金紙陋習害人害己」。事後屋主則情緒低落，在燒毀的老屋前低頭掉淚，鄰居趕緊安慰「人沒事就好」。
