〔記者林國賢/雲林報導]中元普度,雲林縣麥寮鄉有一款特別供品「鱷魚餐包」,用麵皮包著花生粉,中溫油炸成獨特食品,因為表皮有泡泡突起,看起來就像「鱷魚皮」,雖沒包鱷魚肉,仍叫做鱷魚餐包!

拱範宮觀光文化發展協會執行長許綉汝說,麥寮曾種小麥因而得名,早期物資匱乏時,鄉民將小麥粉捍成麵皮,包入花生米、糖粉,做成笅杯狀,經過70~80度油炸,外酥內饀也不會太甜,做為拜拜供品。

許綉汝說,鱷魚餐包只要佐以開水食用,飽足感與熱量都足夠,也成為漁民出海、農民下田充飢點心。

拱範宮執行秘書吳國寶說,鱷魚餐包有很多名稱,有人叫「孔魚餐包」,也有人直接說「土豆仁餐包」,不過,因為叫「鱷魚餐包」比較威,漸漸都以鱷魚餐包稱呼。

吳國寶指出,他小時候「鱷魚餐包」相當流行,是家家戶戶必備供品,也是全家的零嘴,但後來其他食品漸漸取代,現在雖然還有,但比較少了,反而變成麥寮一項特色甜點。
