里港警分局表示，年節將屆賭風方興，里港警分局獲報轄內有不法份子暗中經營六合彩簽賭站供人簽賭營利，為遏制賭博歪風，於本月（2月）11日下午，兵分多路持屏東地方法院核發的搜索票，前往九如鄉忠孝路段、里港鄉和平路段、潮州鎮博愛路段及鹽埔鄉中山路段等地，分别破獲林姓、陳姓、賴姓及曾姓等4人涉嫌經營六合彩簽賭站，共計查扣傳真機7台、計算機2台及賭客簽單。
里港警分局長楊効宜表示，賭博行為危害社會甚鉅，請民眾切勿沉迷參與賭博，輕則易身敗名裂；重則傾家蕩產、家破人亡，警方將持續加強掃蕩賭博。
