國際糕餅麻油節今天揭幕，朝天宮前朝聖大道人山人海，為了吸引顧客上門，商家更是大塊切下大餅供民眾品嘗，黑糖糕、新港飴等應有盡有，為了突顯北港糕餅麻油節國際化，北港形象商圈首度邀請日本沖繩縣一道參展，招待民眾品嘗當地的黑糖及開口笑等小點心。
沖繩縣觀光大使與那霸義隆雖然第一次來到南台灣推銷黑糖，但對民眾熱情留下深刻印象，義隆覺得台灣與沖繩距離相當近，未來兩地可以頻繁文化文流，北港形象商圈理事長陳威任也期待糕餅麻油節走向國際化。
