據了解，這起失蹤案件發生在下午17時28分，總計7人（1女6男）自行攜帶潛水裝備至深澳漁港外潛水，上岸後同行友人發現20多歲吳姓男子失蹤，當下立即向119報案。

新北市消防局獲報後，除了同步通知漁業電台廣播協尋，也通報空勤總隊協助，目前新北市消防局、空勤總隊、第二岸巡隊已經派人抵達該處，進行沿岸、海面與空中搜索中。
