〔記者顏宏駿/彰化報導〕紅薏仁被喻天然美白聖品,但穀粒含脂量高,進口紅薏仁易孳生黃麴毒素,國產紅薏仁奇貨可居、供不應求,連帶使得國內最大的紅薏仁產區彰化縣二林鎮青農相繼投入種植,目前進入收割期,農會表示,今年生產面積達五十一‧六五公頃,創下歷年新高。

二林農總幹事邱士平說,紅薏仁就是薏米除去外殼但還保有麩皮的穀仁,麩皮保有營養精華,其道理就像糙米比晶白米更營養,麩皮含脂量高,儲存不易,「新鮮」造就國產紅薏仁的價值,少了黃麴毒素的疑慮,國人接受度更高。

邱士平說,二林鎮的薏仁種植得追溯自一九八三年,當時農會輔導葡萄農轉作雜糧作物,成立薏仁產銷班,但農民種植後不知要賣誰?產量漸減,直到近年掀起紅薏仁美白風潮,需求被重視,農委會「大糧倉計畫」鼓勵農民種植用水量少的雜糧作物,紅薏仁才開始盛行起來。

邱士平指出,種植稻米與紅薏仁收益相去不遠,但其容易栽培管理,又因可領取休耕轉作補助,增添農民栽種意願,特別是青年農民更勇於嘗試。

每公斤收購價50元 吸引青農嘗試

他說,農民習慣在一期稻作期間改種紅薏仁,農會與農民契作,每公斤收購價五十元,農民每公頃平均收成二‧四公噸,收益每公頃約十萬元,加上獎勵金,每公頃最高可達十二‧四萬,比起一期水稻收益約十萬多更好,二林鎮位處「風頭水尾」,灌溉水源珍貴,種紅薏仁這種雜糧更符合土地永續利用價值。
