檳榔攤的黃姓業者指稱，有一名男子6月30日下午4時許，駕駛一輛黑色馬自達轎車，前往檳榔攤購買香菸，並以6枚50硬幣付款，店員當下並未發覺有異，後來經查看才發現，這6枚硬幣均為102、103年鑄造，但外觀看起來卻很新，經敲擊發現聲音與其他真幣的聲音有點不一樣，懷疑是收到偽幣，於是拍下照片上傳至臉書，提醒其他業者注意。
黃姓業者並已向警方報案，由於初步無法從外觀判定硬幣真偽，將送往相關單位進行鑑定，待釐清後再進一步追究相關責任；不過黃姓業者事後則已將發文刪除。
