根據臺鐵簡訊，台鐵3日晚間20:42、誤點14分到嘉義站的152次自強號，因為第4車廂發生有旅客糾紛，經鐵路警察上車處理，該旅客持刀攻擊該名警察，導致警員受傷，目前已通知救護車處理中。

嘉義市火車站一輛火車今晚兩名旅客發生糾紛，鐵路警察獲報前往處理，竟被其中一名男乘客持刀砍殺，當場臟器外露血跡斑斑，男警立即被送醫急救，行兇的歹徒則被制伏逮捕。一名民眾目擊整個過程直呼：「嚇死人了」。鐵路局已先讓車上乘客全部下車，該輛一五二次列車將先開回彰化火車站停放，由警方釐清案情。

李姓鐵路警察見狀立刻上前制止，卻被失控的乘客拿刀刺中腹部，造成上腹出現5公分刀傷，臟器外露意識不清送醫。嘉義基督教醫院急診室醫師廖志江表示，院方進行CPR後已恢復生命跡象，但尚未脫離生命危險。
