據了解，42歲吳姓男子今天下午1時許沿著淡水區淡金路一段往三芝方向行駛，行經水源街二段口時，疑因未注意到前方車況，不慎推撞到前方停等紅燈的3部轎車即1部機車，造成車輛駕駛、乘客共8名女子受傷，所幸都只有輕微擦挫傷，消防人員獲報趕抵現場後，隨即替眾人進行初步處理，隨後分送淡水馬偕醫院及台北榮總醫院。

警方獲報趕抵現場後，也隨即在現場進行交管，並迅速排除事故車輛，恢復交通順暢，後續經了解，5部車駕駛均未酒駕，至於確切車禍事故原因，仍待後續調查。
