警方到現場了解狀況，此時恰巧運將做完筆錄開車返家，2名黑衣男一看到林男，不顧警察在場，再度追上前作勢追打，執勤警立即衝上前，朝2男噴灑辣椒水壓制，上銬後帶到派出所，訊後將依傷害罪嫌方向偵辦。

林姓運將身上多處瘀青，因頭暈送醫救治，目前已經返家休養，讓妻子看不下去，在臉書痛批：「宜蘭流氓當道了，其實報警了也沒有什麼用，流氓根本不拍（怕）警察阿，他們當著警察的面，又沖（衝）過來打我老公好幾拳，我老公這次傷得不輕，被打的都在頭部，賺幾個辛苦錢而已，被打成這樣！好可憐」。
