原以為火勢控制了，才剛走回車上，沒想到煙持續冒出，司機二話不說，跑到乘客座拿出第二罐滅火器馳援，全車乘客沒人抱怨，乖乖待在位置上，目擊公車運轉手，在119到場前先化身英勇苗子手，在30多度高溫下變身打火英雄。
救火的就是這輛台中客運154號公車，20日當天下午從台中開往大甲，才剛下交流道，巧遇火燒車，司機莊承俯成了網路上的打火英雄。但對於被網友大讚，暖心運將莊承俯僅說是「媽祖保佑」。
檢視相片莊承俯在台中客運公車資歷10年，行駛台中大甲線，每天都會停靠鎮瀾宮沾染大甲媽神威，駕駛座前掛滿平安符，求行車平安，也發揮慈悲心腸。這回媽祖公車司機英勇救火，被傳為佳話。
