〔記者歐素美／台中報導〕豐原區公所昨天下午5點多，請包商在豐原區同心街旁的三村公園水溝蓋上打洞，以便積水可流入水溝，避免孳生病媒蚊，不料，意外打穿水溝蓋下方的瓦斯管線，引發火災，造成工人手部小灼傷，幸無大礙；火災波及一旁民宅，燒毀採光罩，豐原區長徐照山表示，下週一將派員拜訪受災戶，賠償民眾損失。
