〔記者黃良傑／高雄報導〕高雄捷運、輕軌營運已連續三年財務盈餘，去年盈餘七千兩百四十三萬元，今年一至五月盈餘七千三百萬元，超過去年一整年盈餘。為加強高捷安全，昨進行定期安檢，達標分數再推高，僅四個改善及十五項建議事項，未來配合捷運黃線、路竹延伸線、環狀輕軌第二階段等交通建設，建構更完整的軌道運輸路網。
交通局昨請來十位專家、學者，定期安檢全市軌道運輸，為捷運及輕軌的經營和安全把關，由副局長黃萬發擔任召集人。他表示，高捷公司營運已連續三年財務盈餘，其中去年盈餘達七千兩百四十三萬元，今年一至五月盈餘已達七千三百萬元；另於今年農曆初三當日，不僅捷運運量達卅七萬四百四十六人次，再創歷史新高，輕軌運量當日也達四萬兩千零六人次創新高。
