消防車鳴笛聲響徹雲霄，夜晚的巷弄內，擠滿了警消人員和圍觀民眾。
11日晚間9點多，高雄市林園區一棟透天厝3樓發生火警。
女屋主：「煙就整個都往上衝，想說去樓下看一下，結果看到電視旁冒火。」
女屋主正準備要上樓告訴剛洗好澡的兒子失火了，趕快逃。
女屋主：「快點走快點房子失火了，快走他說不要啦他不要走，他精神有問題。」
家屬：「(沒有縱火啦)，沒有沒有沒有縱火。」
女屋主表示，當時先生外出，只剩她和兒子兩人在家，兒子因躲在廁所不願出來。警消趕到現場時，在浴室發現46歲失去意識的兒子，緊急將人送往小港醫院救治。
不幸的是，緊急將劉姓男子送醫後，疑似吸入過多濃煙，急救後仍不幸身亡。
消防人員初步研判，起火原因可能是1樓電線走火所導致，至於詳細原因，還需火調人員釐清。
