新莊警分局泰山所於6日下午1時許獲報，稱明志、公園路口有疑似迷途婦人需要協助，員警趕往現場後與熱心報案人聯繫，發現有名婦人一直躺坐在路邊，並有輕微失智情形，無法說出家住何處，喃喃表示中午剛吃飽飯，想出門走走散步一下，但天氣太熱累了躺坐路旁休息。
員警察覺不對勁，在婦人身上找到證件後，得知59歲的林姓婦人家住在泰山區明志路，眼見氣候十分炎熱難耐，婦人也身體疲憊、汗流浹背，為防意外隨即駕駛巡邏警車，護送婦人安全抵達明志路家中，林婦家屬對於警方熱心協助，不斷表達謝意。
警方提醒，家中長輩若有失智症狀，應避免讓其單獨外出，平常應多注意、關心長輩的動向，或配戴辨識之項鍊、手鍊，以防走失後，可提供警方或相關單位的辨識。
