鶯歌早期火車站文化路上有喬木旅社等4家旅館經營，還經常客滿，如今這幾家傳統旅館早已收攤，只剩下走文青風青年旅館型態的「魚旅」傳承，讓過往旅客在此體驗到家的感覺。
魚旅是喜愛旅遊的林采萱，2014年還在就讀台藝大四年級時以「開工作室」為名，向家人湊到資金後前往鶯歌開業圓夢，由於本身學的是金工創作，林采萱也向鶯歌在地的陶瓷、社團合作，走出戶外體驗手拉坯、金工、三峽藍染。
即使下雨天，魚旅也會舉辦電影欣賞、不定期舉辦的壓花課程，還有最為人津津樂道的「旅行分享會」，讓來自各地、不同背景的旅人，在這裡分享交流旅行的故事跟趣聞。
魚旅表示，創立迄今一直以「有家的感覺」作為座右銘，民宿提供的服務和飯店、旅社大不同，將營造出結合地方文化特色服務，吸引旅人造訪。
