〔記者林宜樟／嘉義報導〕嘉義縣大林鎮今天凌晨發生溺水事故，嘉義縣消防局接獲通報，指上林里一處池塘有人溺水，救護人員到場時，發現兩名21歲印度籍男子溺水，分別送往嘉義基督教醫院和大林慈濟醫院救治，但都急救無效死亡。
嘉義縣消防局今天凌晨2點多接獲警方報案，大林鎮上林里集賢樓（南華大學校外宿舍）附近的池塘有人溺水，到場發現是南華大學兩名印度籍男性交換學生，先後救起後送醫救治，但都已死亡，正由警方調查事故發生原因。
警方初步調查，2名南華大學印度籍交換學生，和2名在虎尾科大就讀的印度籍交換生友人，凌晨在池塘邊喝酒聊天，後來有3人跳入池塘內戲水，其中2人溺水，另一人上岸。（09:12更新）
