雲林虎尾建國眷村被文化部列為文化聚落保存，眷二代魯紜湘改造建國一村首棟眷舍做為眷村文化工作室，成為傳承推廣眷村文化的據點。
虎尾建國眷村共4村，三、四村闢為拯民國小及雲林第二監獄，一、二村在2006年底眷戶全部遷移後閒置，2016年獲文化部列為文化聚落，以再造歷史現場方式修復建築群。
魯紜湘返鄉耕耘多年，她指出，雲林是全國罕有的鄉村型眷村，「芋仔和番薯」因此交會出許多特殊的情感及互動模式，非常珍貴，很值得挖掘收藏。
魯紜湘選中屋況較好的一村入口首棟，秉著還原歷史現場的原則，築起竹籬笆，修補破漏之處，盡量保持原貌，意外收到許多老照片，照片中故人雖已遠，當時眷村生活情景還能看出一二。
魯紜湘計畫，除了文史蒐集彙整外，未來也會舉辦人力培訓、認識眷村課程，以及眷村食衣住行育樂等有關活動，讓大家更了解眷村文化的美好。
