根據了解，兩名男子疑似騎車時發生行車糾紛，兩人下車理論，一言不合爆發肢體衝突，其中王男持折疊刀朝著陸男肚子用力一劃，陸男痛得倒地，腹部被劃傷一刀，裡面的臟器還因此外露。警消獲報後，抵達現場，立即將陸男送往衛生所急救，但當地的醫療資源無法應付，因此凌晨五點時，緊急連絡空勤總隊，出動黑鷹直升機，將傷者送往台東馬偕醫院繼續急救。

空中勤務總隊臺東豐年機場駐地勤務第三大隊第三隊獲接獲總隊下達命令，即刻派遣機型UH-60M直升機編號NA-703號機執行任務，待命機組員及隨機醫護員2員即刻上場，並於機前實施任務提示。04:25時開車，04:40時起飛定向綠島，04:53時降落綠島機場，搭載病患1員、病患家屬1員，合計2員上機後，05:04時由綠島起飛沿原航路返回臺東豐年機場，05:17時降落臺東豐年機場，病患交由救護人員轉送至馬偕醫院實施後續治療。
