受到鋒面影響，20日全台各地都有豐沛的雨量，氣象局稍早針對台中市、南投縣發布大雷雨警報。目前台中西區一帶，麻園頭溪的水位暴漲，怒濤洶湧，為了避免危險，台中市警局一分局緊急封閉週邊橋梁。
台中市警局一分局表示，地下道部分，封閉林森路與自由路口。橋樑部分，封閉公益路與華美西街口、向上北路與大忠街口、忠明南路與向上南路口、忠明南路與上路口、五權西路與大忠南街口。台中市警局提醒，大雨來襲，用路人務必注意安全。
除此之外，大雨也造成台鐵集集線停駛，台鐵於下午1點接獲通報，集集至水里間26.8公里處路段，由於路樹因大雨傾倒影響行車，集集線目前只行駛到濁水站，集集站與車埕站暫停行駛。
