〔記者張勳騰／苗栗報導〕苗栗縣65歲余姓老翁，今天上午駕鐵牛車，行經苗栗縣公館鄉大坑村路段，鐵牛車上載運木屑介質，在爬坡時「倒退嚕」，致鐵牛車側翻，駕駛被甩出，頸部被車頂壓扁，當場無生命跡象，警消人員調派吊車，才將他救出。
警方調查，余翁是種植洋菇，洋菇季結束，今天上午10點半許，余翁駕鐵牛車欲將剩下的木屑介質載運給親友種菜之用，鐵牛車行經公館鄉大坑村一處農路時，在爬坡時，疑鐵牛車故障，車子突然「倒退嚕」，致鐵牛車側翻，木屑散落一地。
余姓駕駛被甩出，頸部被車頂壓住，當場死亡，警消人員趕抵現場，調派大型吊車，花了一個多小時，將余男救出，家屬表示不願送醫，案由警方處理中。
