國道4號17日晚間7點50分發生2車翻覆意外，地點位在台中豐原往清水路段13K。警消獲報到場後，發現其中一名王姓男子已無生命跡象，立即將人送醫，無奈急救30分鐘後仍回天乏術，在晚間8點52分傷重不治。
