〔記者張議晨/宜蘭報導〕「怎麼那麼臭?」稻農休耕期間撒種田菁培養地力,但宜蘭近日艷陽高照,耕鋤後的田菁在水田裡分解,散發陣陣「阿摩尼亞味」;壯圍鄉新南村長葉慶文接獲許多民眾投訴,指刺鼻臭味難耐,影響住家環境;對此,農委會農糧署解釋,田菁泡水會分解出「氨氣」,建議農友耕鋤時維持土壤濕潤再耕鋤即可。

宜蘭稻作約在六、七月間收割,收割完後農田幾乎未再耕作,稻農為申請休耕補助,會在田中撒上綠肥作物,培養地力,宜蘭稻農已田菁做綠肥為大宗。

田菁約長至1尺高就需動用機具耕鋤,但宜蘭近日艷陽高照,耕鋤後的田菁在水田發酵,散發濃濃刺鼻「阿摩尼亞味」,紅褐色臭水還從水田流入溝渠,令不少民眾作嘔抱怨。

「怎麼會這麼臭?」葉慶文指出,近期不少民眾常向他投訴,「明明周邊沒養豬,怎麼有股豬屎味」?到田間巡視,才發現是田菁泡水惹的禍。

葉慶文抱怨,田菁雖是宜蘭常見的綠肥作物,但「百害無一利」,如成長階段容易引來斜紋夜盜蟲,若泡水曬太陽,則會散發濃濃「豬屎味」,且今年田菁種子又上漲近一倍,造成農友、民眾極大困擾,盼政府能檢討政策。

對此,農委會農糧署解釋,田菁屬豆科植物,含氮量高,若泡在水中曝曬,會發酵產生氨氣;因宜蘭農民習慣在耕鋤後淹水,避免稻田長草,但田菁泡水加上近期陽光曝曬,加快其發酵速度,才會散發刺鼻臭味。

農糧署建議,田菁耕鋤時,只要保持田區濕潤即可,避免田菁泡水發酵;另外,種植太陽麻、虎爪豆等綠肥,也能達到培養地力的效果。
