〔記者陳鳳麗／南投報導〕繼8月17日、18日後，下午1點59分發生規模4.3的有感地震，震央在花蓮縣秀林鄉，氣象局地震測報資料顯示，南投縣僅奧萬大和合歡山有感覺，震度皆是3級，不過南投縣很多民眾的手機仍收到地震警報，但完全沒有搖晃感，而位在震度3級的南投林管處奧萬大森林遊樂區員工，有人還是沒感覺。
發生在下午1點59分的有感地震，震央在北緯24.1、東經 21.54度，即花蓮縣秀林鄉，南投縣與花蓮縣相鄰的奧萬大和合歡山震度各為3級，對地震一向很敏感的南投縣民，雖不在這兩個地區，仍有不少人收到手機地震警報。
南投縣多數鄉鎮對該起地震無感，即使位在震度3級的奧萬大還是有人不知有地震，南投林管處奧萬大森林遊樂區的廖姓員工即表示，可能地震發生時在走路，完全不知有地震。
