〔記者歐素美／台中報導〕立法院通過「農民健康保險條例」部分條文修正草案，行政院農委會依此訂定「農民職業災害保險試辦辦法」，將於十一月上路。初步擬定農民月繳約十五元，可獲傷害給付、失能（身心障礙）給付、喪葬津貼及醫療給付等保障。市府將加碼補助台中市農民自付保費五十％，每人每月僅需繳約七．五元，預計十萬名農友受惠。
農業局表示，為讓農民更加了解農民職災保險試辦辦法相關資訊，市府近日配合農委會，已分別於豐原區及清水區舉辦兩場講習會，約三百名農友參加。
農業局指出，農民職業災害保險預定今年十一月起試辦，採自願加保方式，農保被保險人不限年齡，可加保或不加保，加保者將可獲傷害給付、就醫津貼、身心障礙給付、喪葬津貼等保障，相當於農保的附加保險，讓農友在農作時萬一發生意外更有保障。
農業局說，初步擬定每人加保費用約每月十五元，台中市府補助農民自付保費五十％，也就是農民每月僅需負擔七．五元。
