行政院長賴清德18日南下苗栗縣參訪，行程安排1整天，預計早上到大湖鄉的石門客棧休閒農場與苗栗返鄉青年農民進行座談。不過，18日早上在勤前教育時，一名大湖分局的吳姓警員，突發發生昏厥，一度失去呼吸心跳，經現場同仁緊急搶救後恢復生命徵象，由苗栗消防人員緊急送往大順醫院搶救。
據了解，47歲的吳姓警員，疑有心血管疾病，今晨因賴揆參訪，值勤員警們需實行勤教教育，吳男疑因擔心遲到心情緊張，進入會議室後不久即發生昏厥，一度失去呼吸心跳，現場警察同仁發現後，立即搭配會場設置的AED（自動體外去顫器）進行電擊及施行CPR後，吳姓員警恢復微弱的脈搏及呼吸，消防人院到場後，由消防隊員持續急救並送醫，經搶救後已恢復意識，狀況穩定。
