台北市消防局在下午2點時許獲報，位在北投區復興三路的巷弄內山路，傳出有1名年約60歲男子遭樹木重壓，救護人員趕到現場時，男子已無呼吸心跳，轄區北投分局鑑識人員到場釐清事發經過，不排除是大雨導致樹木倒塌。
年約60歲的男子在21日下午時，徒步走到自家的後山，結果在途中時，疑似被大雨沖刷的路樹壓住，山下的親友找遍尋男子不著，最後發現他被壓在樹下，趕緊向消防局報案，警消派出9名救護人員，並攜帶電鋸、自動心肺機前往救援，發現男子已無呼吸心跳，接著再以長背板將他搬下山送上救護車，稍早北投榮總已宣告不治，詳細原因還有待警方釐清。
