這家位在市區的小吃店的業者，前日下午在燉煮鍋物，突然有事須外出，因太匆忙而忘了爐上還在燉東西，沒有關掉瓦斯爐即出門。不久鍋子燒乾開始冒煙，屋內的住災火災警報器感應到，隨即發出巨大警報聲響。
該店的隔壁鄰居聽到警報聲響，循聲過來探看，發現聲音是從小吃店發出，且屋內有陣陣的煙竄出，馬上打一一九報案，消防分隊迅速趕至處理，讓小吃店沒有受到損失。
消防局表示，這家小吃店先前發生過忘關瓦斯外出而廚房燒起來的意外，因此消防分隊主動到該店免費安裝「住宅火災警報器」，安裝不久就發揮效用。
