2018年瓊斯盃女籃25日在新莊體育館開打，首場比賽由紐西蘭與印度進行交手，此行帶來不少新人的紐西蘭，依舊不是印度能匹敵的對象，最終紐西蘭以114比39大勝。
紐西蘭今年在大英國協運動會女籃獲得銅牌，不過只有卡菈妮在瓊斯盃球員名單中，她是去年瓊斯盃的最佳五人，也是紐西蘭這一波換血浪潮中，新世代的領導人物。
同時紐西蘭陣中還有4名剛進國家隊的球員，包括艾許蕾、艾莉莎、妮可以及里德，其中妮可是陣中少數沒在美國求學的球員。
印度雖以亞運參賽陣中出戰，但女籃尚在起步階段，且有在美求學的球員未隨隊，實力有段落差下，第一節就被紐西蘭打出34比8攻勢，戰況一面倒。
在紐西蘭壓迫下，印度球連運過半場都很吃力，組織跑位很難串聯，多半流於單打，但命中率不佳，，團隊助攻僅5次，具身材優勢的紐西蘭，搶了35個防守籃板，進攻籃板也有26個。
