〔記者林國賢／雲林報導〕雲林縣二崙甜瓜（美濃瓜）開始採收，二崙農會秘書吳曜宇表示，今年氣候適宜，甜瓜平均甜度在十四、五度，價格與去年同期相當，是CP值高的當令水果。
果農李良宗表示，甜瓜是二崙鄉主要水果作物之一，臨近濁水溪土壤非常適合甜瓜種植，主要產季從4月到10月，今年頭期瓜氣候適宜，品質產量都不錯，目前每台斤產地價依等級約13至20元左右，與去年相當，是最好吃的當令水果。
吳曜宇說，全盛時期二崙甜瓜種植面積約3000多公頃，但因甜瓜採收需要龐大人工，農村人口外流影響下，種植面積逐年減少，現在只剩200多公頃，大多是網室種植，汁多甜美，清脆爽口，口碑甚佳。
吳曜宇表示，甜瓜拿在手中時，越沈甸越好，表示果肉結實；至於表皮要有光澤和亮度，甜度才夠；成長良好的果實外觀圓滑，而甜瓜成熟時，底部也會散發陣陣香味。
