新北市蘆洲區中山一路95巷內公寓，鄰居連日一直聞到一股飄散的異味，7日晚間房東到場敲門後沒有回應，且聞到異味從房內不斷飄出，覺得不對勁報請警方到場，經警消到場破門之後，發現38歲的簡姓男子已經氣絕多時，死亡時間將近1個星期。
警方調查，簡姓男子有肝病的就診紀錄，獨自一個人租屋該處公寓套房內，生活開銷都是由母親匯款，但由於簡男有嚴重的酗酒惡習，母親也只給予基本的生活開銷，並不定時會到租屋處關心。
警方破門進入屋內後確認簡男身分，尋嫌通知簡男父母親到場，見兒子疑似因酗酒引起的「猛爆性肝炎」死亡，傷心欲絕癱軟在地，鑑識小組到場後並未發現有打鬥痕跡，初步排除他殺可能，詳細的死因仍待相驗解剖後釐清。
