頭城海水浴場位於頭城鎮大坑罟海濱，距離頭城火車站兩公里，原為頭城鎮公所管理，後移交縣府接管，被視為「龜山朝日」最佳觀賞地點，以前談到海邊戲水，頭城海水浴場往往是首選。
頭城鎮民代表林連生回憶，小時候常到頭城海水浴場玩水、烤肉，全票二十元，半票十元，收費低廉，遊客絡繹不絕，可惜好景不常，海灘消失後走下坡，一度淪為治安死角。
