今年雨量特別少的影響，素有河川殺手之稱布袋蓮生長良好，有才寮大排、新虎尾溪等河川沿海河段一眼望去全被布袋蓮佔據，成為「綠川」，附近居民擔心布袋蓮佔據河道將影響排水功能，一旦出現豪大雨，造成嚴重水患。
雲林縣府水利處長許宏博指出，縣府已完成布袋蓮清除計畫，並已完成發包作業，近日就會展開清除作業。
許宏博說，針對縣管河川及區域排水瓶頸段疏疏濬工程，水利處編列工程總經費6000萬元，在4月底汛期前完成疏濬作業，降低淹水災情。
