中央氣象局才預告，因午後對流雲系發展旺盛，嘉義、台南與高雄山區可能會出現強降雨與冰雹，結果大埔鄉的表湖測站一個鐘頭降下40.5毫米，馬頭山也有25.5毫米，希望對曾文水庫解渴有所助益。
石硦林場則在2點40分許下了約3分鐘的冰雹，氣勢驚人，遊客先是被嚇一跳，接著則興奮得又叫又跳。
