苗栗縣警察局頭份分局蓬萊派出所獲報後，所長張坤泉立即率警員葉為棋前往蓬萊步道找尋，到處東翻西找，將近半小時總算在護魚步道找回趙女錢包，幸好財物與證件都未遺失。
頭份警分局呼籲民眾，籲民眾外出旅遊時，除了注意自身安全外，亦要注意隨身攜帶的財物，以免傷了荷包，影響出遊興致。
