觀霧派出所巡佐陳文田，前往查看發現，受困車輛左側前、後輪胎，均卡在山溝內，考量業者不願上山拖吊，加上山路崎嶇並落石不斷、雨勢紛紛，只好將巡邏警車充當拖車，利用繩索固定後，終於將受困車輛拖起脫困。
陳文田見受困車輛楊姓車主與其友人驚魂未定，便熱心帶兩人回到派出所提供熱茶及簡便餐點。大湖警分局呼籲，近日山區常降雨氣候不穩定，且午後常有濃霧影響駕駛人視線，容易發生意外，請民眾務必注意。
